This was painted after walking across the road from my cottage, a sunny evening with a threat off rain. It was painted in situ using paint and water, laying in the grass, finished later in the evening in pen and ink.
West Muircambus farm is approximately half a mile from home and is a working farm. The large circular bales, were called rolly-polies by my grand-children and every time I see them a smile comes across my face. Watercolour painted in situ and finished at home with pen and ink.
For me a happy picture, that I painted with my grandson (about nine years old at the time) sitting beside me painting his version. I don’t know if he still has his watercolour. Finished with pen and ink.
A watercolour painting, painted in situ, with pen and ink drawing added later when I returned to the house. One of a series which will be ongoing, as I walk around the fields surrounding the house constantly.
